Feels more like a hipster chain than it used to.... nothing spectacular

I spent many days here, while my dog was in surgery, and recovering at Robinson Animal Hospital! The food, and atmosphere...was amazing! I also recommend the "Crowbar"! If you're looking for a late night bar, with a great juke box... I'll NEVER forget my time in Johnson City, TN.

Holy cow... How many good things can I say... That's right, not enough. We got great service. Our waiter was phenomenal! Taco plates were plentiful and delicious. Nasty nachos... Absolutely unbelievable. I had ground beef and chorizo. They were the best I ever had until I tried my daughter's Nasty Chicken Nachos. Incredible!!! We probably should have split them though... Excellent and gracious portion sizes. I was even impressed when we got the tab. Great location in downtown JC. Wish I had taken pictures of all of it!!!

Just a cool place with great service...and great tamales!

I won't eat there again for multiple reasons. The service was very poor. It was almost too dark to read the menu. The food, without anything extra on it, was too hot (spicy) to eat. We ate a 1/4th of our dinners (there were 2 of us). An observant waiter would have noticed something was wrong, but he didn't even question, just brought the check. Never again. Neat concept, poor execution.

It was a busy Friday night at Holy Taco but you would not have known it based on the excellent service. I think the tacos are the best in town here. Highly recommended!

Great place for some great food. Excellent Tex-Mex food. Have to try the Jalapeño Margarita! Extensive selection of craft brews as well.

A Johnson City staple. This place is the classic downtown tacos and beer joint. Their nachos are great too. There is outdoor seating as well.

Really awesome place. Friendly wait staff , cold drinks , and amazing sweet tea. All we had was a quesadilla and some chips and salsa and it was all very high quality stuff. Really good experience and a great place to hang with friends.

Played trivia, was good times. Decent drink prices. I would go again.

Excellent place to eat for excellent pricing. You can even get delivery through DoorDash with these guys. Very hole-in-the-wall feel to it, perfect if you're looking for awesome tacos. Highly recommend their cheese dip specialty as well!

Delicious Mexican food! I recommend holy guacamole, made fresh each order, the pork or chicken tacos, and the taco salad with mezclar le carne. Great atmosphere, staff, and food! Good kids menu, too! And oreo churros for dessert!!

My Sprite drink tasted better than the food, taco bell is better than this! Come here to get drunk to pretend the food is good.

Wonderful food and outside dining with our "fur" family. Good service.

Server was a friendly tatted girl. Tacos were small. Overall acceptable but nothing to write home about.

Was not impressed with the food. Then our server left and picked up a pizza. Maybe we should have had a pizza instead. The burrito was way bigger than the tiny tacos. Just was not for me. They place was cute but the food lacked love.

I love this place! Amazing lunch special and the staff are always fantastic. They also have a good selection of cocktails.

The food was yummy with a lot if tasty meat choices. Reasonably priced for large food portions. But beware, the House Margarita is TINY.

Good good in downtown

This might be the worse review I’ve left for an establishment in JC :/ After all the great food and service I’ve had this week, this place underwhelmed me. I thought that it was understaffed, considering that I was ignored for the first 20 minutes I was there. Not just ignored in the sense that I wasn’t seen, ignored in that they looked at me multiple times and saw me waiting to place an order and didn’t even take two seconds to let me know they’ll be with me shortly. The staff seemed stressed and as a result were a bit rude. Food was good, not great. Prices were average. As a comparison, all of my reviews in JC have noted great quality food + very low/reasonable prices. This is not the case here. I think there are much better places in JC you can spend time at. This place was open late so it was appealing, but there are other restaurants open late as well if that’s what you’re looking for (Rainbow Asian Cuisine is open until 1am!).

Enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us and eat lunch out on the patio. Food was delicious.

First off- this place has a really really good draft beer menu. The day we visited the service was super fast and friendly. Our table shared the queso appetizer and the cheese was delicious and flavorful. However the chips we're very bland and almost stale. Absolutely edible with the dip, but I really think they're lacking for a place like this. It's what you expect from queso at Applebee's. I tried the lunch special with the pork shoulder with a sour beer from SN. The queso mixed in with the meat was such a different combo of flavors and it just went together perfect- especially with my beer!!It's a great place for a quick cheap lunch and it's so yummy! Kid friendly as well!!

Best tofu in town. I always get the tofu taco platter. Easy to make vegan by omitting cheese. Jalapeno margarita if I'm feeling it. Love this place so much.

The Nasty Nachos are I'm a creature of habit, so i've only tried that one entree, but it's consistently awesome, and a ton of food for the price.

I’m so disappointed in what I received! I called in an order of 4 pork tacos, 4 chicken tacos, and an order of Guacamole, my total came to $33.95. I got home and took our food out of the bag and OMG !!!’ These little bitty tacos had barley any meat in them and they was sooooo dry! After I ate my 2 I was still so hungry. There was barely any quacamole in my cup they gave me for 5.00. We all was so upset . We literally could of ate at Taco Bell for cheaper and our appetite would of been satisfied. Taco Bell at least put enough meat in the taco wether it’s chicken or beef or just cheese ! Smh.... not worth the price. A waste of my hard working money. The pictures of the food on the website is so deceiving!
